Estelle Dippie is the creative force behind Commonplace Essentials, a brand that began as an offshoot of Commonplace Distribution (CPD)—a consciously-minded wholesale fashion agency. Launched in 2020 at the peak of the lockdown leisurewear craze, the brand has since evolved into a full collection of thoughtfully designed classics, combining everyday wearability with versatile elegance.
Commonplace Essentials is guided by Dippie’s belief that the most sustainable clothing is the kind you reach for repeatedly—the hardworking staples of your wardrobe—each garment is thoughtfully designed to meet this standard.
Inspired by vintage and sportswear aesthetics, Dippie has found her new home in Northeast London to be the perfect playground for her creative exploration, pushing her already impressive talents to new heights.
Since relocating from New Zealand in September 2023, Dippie has been captivated by London’s dynamic fusion of culture and creativity; and its position as a gateway to Europe. Dippie reflects on how the city’s vibrant energy and global influence have become a profound source of inspiration for her personal and professional growth.
Read on as Dippie takes RIISE on a 24-hour journey through her city.

"A good morning for me always begins with some type of movement. London has the most beautiful parks so either a walk or a run around Victoria Park or Regents Park. Otherwise, my pilates studio of choice is FLOW LDN in Fitzrovia - ideally followed by a sauna and cold plunge as the perfect way to start the day. Next up good coffee is essential. Pophams in Islington is one of my favourites. The morning vibes are unmatched but make sure you’re early on Saturday or Sunday to get a table. They also have a gorgeous homeware + deli store next door which is well worth a visit."

"Whether it’s produce, antiques, furniture or flowers - London knows how to put on a good market. Some of my favourites include Columbia Road Flower Market (for flowers and plants), Broadway Market (for lunch) and Camden Passage (for antiques). The Hackney Flea Market has the most incredible vintage homeware and furniture finds. It regularly rotates around a number of different locations so it’s worth checking out their Instagram to see what they have coming up next."

"Five minutes from Broadway Market in East London, you’ll find Towpath - the loveliest canal-side lunch spot. My go-to order is the Kasandi with Feta, Chilli and Herbs on Toast. Towpath is only open in the spring/summer months, so if you’re out of season stroll down to Ozone in Emma Street. It’s an absolute London institution that’s also New Zealand-owned, it’s such a treat to have a little taste of home so close-by.”

“London is a great city to explore by bike so I highly recommend jumping on a Lime to get around, especially if it’s a (rare) sunny afternoon! There are countless incredible galleries to visit - one of my favourites is the Tate Modern. On the last Friday of every month the gallery hosts Tate Lates - an evening programme of art, DJ sets, workshops and talks curated by special guests."

"Potentially a contender for the most beautiful restaurant in London - Sessions Arts Club is the perfect spot for a special dinner. A restaurant and stunning exhibition space rolled into one, the food menu is seasonal and the art work frequently rotates so it’s a different experience every time. My top tip, however, is to head to the secret roof terrace for a post-dinner drink - the Dill Martini is a must!"
