The brand is founded by Sabrina Szinay, a third generation hairstylist who has worked with clients such as Vogue, Dior, Louis Vuitton, M Le Monde, Chloé, WSJ and more.
“I am super particular about what I bring into the world and with Sándor I create products that I find missing in the market, both on a sustainability level but also on a formulation and scent level,” she tells RIISE.
With Danish and Hungarian heritage, Sabrina has called Brooklyn home for the last nine years, with a few short breaks living in Ibiza and Paris. It’s the “diversity, optimism around entrepreneurship and the opportunities the city has to offer if you tap in” that most appeal to Sabrina about this iconic place. We asked her to share 24 hours in New York City with us. Read on for her insider recommendations.
Matcha or coffee

Matcha or coffee
“In the mornings, I usually make matcha and follow up on emails and projects. My coffee order is either a flat white with almond milk or cashew milk, or a matcha. I like everything in life on rotation,” she says. Some of her most-loved morning spots are Nordic-inspired bakery La Cabra, health-forward food market Happier Grocery, boulangeries Frenchette Bakery and L’Appartement 4F, design-store-come-cafe Hudson Wilder, and Kettl Tea for the best matcha.

A simple breakfast and morning movement
While she is more likely to indulge in a big lunch than a big breakfast, if Sabrina is heading out for breakfast it will be a simple one, usually consisting of eggs and avocado. French and Italian bakery Raf’s, produce-driven cafe Marlow & Sonsand bistro-inspired restaurant Corner Bar are all favourites. Most mornings, though, you’ll find her going for a long walk or run with her dog Asha. She also makes time in her busy schedule for two-three Pilates classes per week.
Leisurely lunch and a facial

Leisurely lunch and a facial
If she’s going out for lunch, you will find Sabrina at everyday Mexican joints Atla in Soho, Lower East Side cafe Dimes, dashi shop and grocer Dashi Okune, Williamsburg taqueria Esse Taco, or Bushwick Mexican spot Sobre Masa on a Saturday for brunch. Her perfect treat-yourself afternoon? A visit to The Met and lunch at either Lodi, located in Rockerfeller Plaza, Upper East Side French bistro Le Charlot or Seafood haven Grand Central Oyster Bar. Then, she recommends heading downtown and getting a facial at either Onda Beauty or Practise NYC.
Dinner parties or hot-cold therapy

Dinner parties or hot-cold therapy
“I relax by having dinner with friends,” Sabrina says. “We’re pretty good at hosting dinners, European style at home with a table full of people.” If she is going out, she always likes to share food so she can try a bit of everything. Some of her favourites across Brooklyn and Manhattan are Cervos, Chez Ma Tante, Roman’s, and Gem Wine. As someone who rarely drinks, though, you’d more likely find Sabrina at a local spa than a bar. She finds going to a sauna or cold plunge is a great reset for a busy week.
