Founded in Copenhagen in 2014 by sisters Julie and Marie Skall, Skall Studio was born from a shared frustration with an industry moving too fast, and a desire to make fashion the slow, considered way. The name — Danish for "seashell" — is a nod to the sisters' family roots on Denmark's North Jutland coast, and to a guiding philosophy that everything is connected. Working almost exclusively with natural fibres — organic Danish wool, linen, GOTS-certified organic cotton, Skall Studio designs are made to be worn for years, not seasons, with production kept close to home and every step of the supply chain traceable back to the sisters themselves. Romantic, feminine and unmistakably Scandinavian, the collections offer an understated, elevated wardrobe built on the belief that less, done well, is enough.
