Here at RIISE, we’re endlessly interested in what stylish women currently have in their shopping cart – and in their wishlists.

For this edition of What’s Hot, we turn our attention to Lucianne Tonti. Along with being our Head of Sustainability, she’s also the Fashion Editor of The Saturday Paper, a columnist for The Guardian, and a consultant who has worked with designers across Europe, the US and Australia. Last year she released Sundressed, a book that takes an optimistic view on how natural fibres can help to solve climate change. Below, Lucianne shares her current seasonal style picks.

Luxe Hoodie, JH Lounge

It’s so comforting throwing on a soft oversized hoodie. These are the items in my wardrobe that work the hardest. They take me from early morning yoga to coffee. They’re all I wear on long plane, train or car rides. I love to throw them on after a swim in the ocean. I’m often writing in them from home. But they also double as great layering pieces beneath coats and blazers and over dresses. This ultra fine cashmere comes from goats that have traversed the most difficult, coldest mountain ranges – and I love that nature takes care of these adventurous goats by having them grow the softest fibre.

The Boyfriend Tee, Cloth & Co

This T-shirt is so soft and comfortable I want to wear it every day. Nothing says summer is on its way better than golden skin against a white tee. Cloth & Co have really close relationships with their farmers and ensure that each step along the supply chain is fully traceable. They’re determined to create fashion that improves the landscapes where it is grown, which is possible with cotton when it is grown responsibly, organically and without chemicals and pesticides. There’s really nothing more chic than beautiful clothes that come from beautiful places.

This face mask is one of my favourite skincare products. It smells amazing and is so light. My skin always feels so smooth and fresh afterwards. When things feel a bit chaotic – whether it’s the news, or I’m busy with life and work – I try to prioritise small moments like doing my skincare routine every night to give myself some semblance of control.

Ray Shorts, Kowtow

I love Kowtow’s commitment to tracing their cotton right back to the farm. I recently met the team at their new Melbourne store and it was amazing to hear them describe the biodiversity of the landscape in India where their cotton is grown. It gives me such a rush to hear designers saying things like ‘the farm where this cotton was grown feels like it is brimming with life’. I love these shorts as they’re such an easy-wearing lightweight cotton that can be dressed up with an oversized blazer or be worn more casually with a singlet. The volume through the legs reminds me of the culottes I wore as a kid in the 90s.

Erin Pool Towel, Baina

Summer is coming and I cannot wait for days spent by and in the water. Having a big, luxurious towel is so important to get wrapped up in post swim or for lying on, on the sand, in the sun. Baina’s towels are of such incredible quality and are so beautiful. I love anything that makes ordinary things feel luxurious, and this towel definitely does!
