Fashion label Kowtow was founded by Gosia Piatek in 2006. From the outset, the brand made the decision to use only renewable and low-impact fibres and choose ethical manufacturing in a bid to be part of positive change in the industry. One of the most significant manifestations of this is Kowtow’s commitment to work with Fairtrade-certified farmers and manufacturers throughout its supply chain, ensuring the protection of workers’ rights. Whether it’s a classic tee, A-line skirt or maxi dress, Kowtow designs with the entire lifecycle of a garment in mind. All items of clothing are made from 100% organic cotton which is processed using GOTS-certified inks and dyes. To further close the loop, the brand also offers a free repair program for all minor repairs and in 2019 introduced a Take Back Programme for garments at the end of their wearable life.
