RIISE presents Wellness Hacks — a continuing exploration of the rituals and rhythms that shape a well-lived life. In this edition, we invite Felicity Evans, founder of a beauty brand built around high-performance skincare, IMBIBE, to share the daily practices that support her wellbeing, from meditation and movement to nourishment, sleep and longevity.

For Felicity Evans, wellness is less about chasing the latest trend and more about the daily practices that make her feel strong, grounded and well. As the founder of a growing global beauty business, a mother of three and now navigating her perimenopausal years, she approaches health with the same intention she brings to her work: consistency, curiosity and a belief in the power of getting the fundamentals right.

From morning meditation and breathwork to strength training, gut health and a skincare philosophy built around consistency over intensity, Felicity’s approach is both considered and refreshingly practical. Here, she shares the rituals that anchor her through busy days, the small pleasures she returns to, and why she believes the foundations of feeling well are often the simplest — and most enduring.

RIISE: What do you do upon waking?

Felicity: I’m fortunate to live right on the beach, so I sleep and wake to the sound of the ocean through my windows. It’s always straight downstairs for my morning hot drinks – multiple organic ceremonial matcha with Miracle Collagen peptides and raw honey. I have two to three of these to start my day.

I stopped drinking coffee about four months ago, after I arrived back in Byron Bay from living in Europe for half the year. I think the intensity of being back in the office with a very busy schedule, combined with school mornings, made me realise I needed to slow down on the espresso. It was making me feel a little on edge, which is a feeling I never ever like to have. I still have plenty of caffeine, just the slow-release kind.

RIISE: What does breakfast usually look like for you?

Felicity: It depends on how much movement or exercises I’ve done in the AM but it’s generally one of the following at around 10am:

- Sheep’s and Greek full fat yoghurt with any fruits, chia, walnuts and honey – I typically add LSA sprinkled on this too.

- A three-egg omelette or scrambled eggs with parmesan and some fermented veggies.

- A can of wild caught sardines on seeded gluten free toast with tea, I had this this morning in the office, it's so good.

- I always have my miracle collagen matcha and beauty renewal probiotic drink at the same time. It makes my skin super luminous before the day begins.

I’m strictly gluten free and lean towards paleo and an anti-inflammatory diet. I’m naturally habitual and dialled in about what I eat in terms of protein, fats, slow-release carbs – I have always been this way. I’m 44 now and entering those perimenopausal years; keeping blood sugar steady and protein high is really important for the hormones.

RIISE: What is one ritual you make time for every day?

Felicity: Kriya meditation and breathwork, every morning before the day takes hold of me. The combination of breathwork plus meditation is the real anchor for me, within my day and life.

RIISE: How do you create moments of calm in your day?

Felicity: Lighting Japanese incense and taking a moment to enjoy the scent and ritual always helps create a sense of stillness and calm amid the chaos of work, life and three daughters. There is a lot of intensity in my day to day life, between managing an expanding global team and business, three daughters, a great deal of product and packaging development and managing multiple deadlines.

I won’t sugar coat it, running an organisation takes an enormous amount of grit, endurance, stamina and self-belief, so just one small moment like lighting some incense, taking a deep breath and continuing on is actually essential to keep the mind calm and steady.

RIISE: What's one thing you always have in your kitchen/bathroom/travel bag?

Felicity: My Collagen Lips Peptide Treatment. I have been using this product twice a day since 2019. And I always have my entire travel range on me, especially our miracle collagen 7-day kit – it’s the one product I absolutely can’t live without!

RIISE: What is your favourite meal when you want to feel good?

Felicity: Oh, this I have on rotation every week and it’s a total family tradition. Organic roast chicken with butter rubbed under the skin, lots of salt and lemon and baked jacket potatoes.

The combination of lemon and salt and butter is definitely feel-good food. I love this meal, with the table set for our three daughters, candles lit, jazz playing in the background and a peaceful Sunday dinner together. It really is the little things that become the big things. It also doubles extremely well for salad and leftovers the next day, which is always a bonus.

RIISE: What have you done recently to improve your health and longevity?

Every single day I focus on my health and longevity. It’s just who I am. Even on days when I can’t squeeze in exercise or movement, I will focus on a simple breathwork practice I’ve cultivated over the years. All of this contributes to health and longevity, which, for me, are markers of a good life.

To maintain my health, it’s all about gut health, sleep, strength and setting myself up to navigate the perimenopause years with as much fortitude as possible. Taking my magnesium hot chocolate, Recover Rest, has been giving me deeper sleep than I’ve ever had. This is essential, as I need to fall asleep quickly and wake feeling properly rested and ready for the many challenges the day will throw at me.

For longevity, I do Pilates and incorporate 6–8kg weights into my routine to increase muscle, which is so important for hormonal health and skeletal strength. I do this three to four times a week, depending on travel and my schedule. I also love yoga and have been practising for over 25 years. I attend a class twice a week, which some weeks does not feel like enough, while other weeks it’s a stretch just to get there on the weekend – but I persevere!

RIISE: Do you have a skincare hack?

Felicity: My skincare hack is that there is no hack. I have developed a clinically performing skincare range that does more, with less. A science based luxurious routine that you love and can actually stick to, does far more for your skin in the long run than constantly jumping between intense treatments, new products and the next TikTok trend.

Great skin is built through consistency, not intensity. My skin is actual proof of this; it has aged in reverse. I stick to steps that work: Cleanser that hydrates whilst cleansing and never strips the skin barrier. Serums that add peptides and collagen actives into your skin.  Moisturiser to protect the barrier and stop transepidermal water loss. Oil as the last step to seal it all in. SPF over the top of this.

I follow these steps religiously and have seen real results in my own skin. But skincare needs to contain effective levels of actives, which can be harder to find these days. That’s precisely why I created my own range. I don’t believe in overusing acids or exfoliators, or stripping away the skin, as this can actually cause more damage.

I do believe in focusing on gut health for glowing skin. It is an underappreciated investment when it comes to healthy, beautiful skin, even though it doesn’t strictly fall under “skincare”. I also love medical-grade LED lamps for the skin, and microneedling performed by professionals works wonders, too. But I wouldn’t consider these hacks; they’re established, science-based treatments.

RIISE: What is one wellness trend you think is overhyped?

Felicity: I think biohacking is overhyped. We’ve become so obsessed with optimising every aspect of our health with gadgets, measuring everything externally, that we have forgotten how to make our own internal measurement of wellness our north star.

We’ve forgotten the power of the fundamentals: good deep sleep, nourishing food, movement, magnesium, probiotics and collagen peptides, these are all the fundamentals and when taken consistently will work better than any biohacking plan.

Wellness doesn’t need to be so complicated. I have always believed that wellness should be pleasurable. I think most wellness trends are overhyped. I don’t subscribe to any type of trend that is currently a hype. What will move the needle is consistent, daily wellness practices that you love and can stick to long term.

RIISE: What does “feeling well” actually mean to you?

Felicity: It means that my body feels strong, free and flexible. It means that I like what I see in the mirror. It means I show a huge amount of kindness to myself and others. It means doing work that is meaningful and impactful. It means having a calm mind, a peaceful heart. Above all, it means living in true alignment with my purpose.

RIISE: What is something you prioritise now that you didn't five years ago?

Felicity: Meditation and Pilates.

RIISE: What is one thing you do for your health that costs nothing?

Felicity: Walking. Not as often as I’d like at home, but when I was living in Europe this year, I’d easily do 15,000 steps a day without even thinking about it, and I felt incredible in my body. Walking is medicine.
