Copenhagen Fashion Week is our most anticipated fashion week on the international show schedule.

It’s not just because this city has enamoured us with its approach to dressing. Copenhagen Fashion Week is the most sustainable fashion week in the world and has set impressive new benchmarks for others to follow suit. For example, all participating designers must show collections made from at least 60% certified organic, recycled or deadstock materials, which is an incredible way to showcase the beauty of fabrics that tread more gently on the planet. There’s also a ban on single-use plastics and props, and carbon emissions are reduced or offset. Model and environmental activist Arizona Muse was even appointed the official Sustainability Ambassador for this year’s event. Read on to discover our highlights from Copenhagen Fashion Week Highlights SS25.

OpéraSPORT’s Outdoor Show

Founded by stylist Stephanie Gundelach and her business partner Awa Malina Stelter, who has a background working in production and design, OpéraSPORT is the Copenhagen-based brand epitomising why the Nordic city has become known as a hub for sustainable fashion.

Their SS25 runway collection took the bay in Operaparken as its backdrop. Framed by flower beds, the collection was inspired by the stunning flora found in Denmark’s whimsical Exillion Garden. As is typical of the brand’s ‘cool girl’ feel, sportswear-inspired influences merged with coquette and cottagecore detailing like ruffles and bow embellishments.

The Street Style

It would be remiss not to mention the street style as a highlight. After all, this city is known as a global leader when it comes to an elevated yet eclectic aesthetic.

We noticed how attendees were combining feminine details, like lace skirts, with utilitarian elements such as worker jackets. Or bow-embellished puff sleeve dresses and combat boots. Somehow, the Danes can just pull it off.

We also loved the dedication to layering and saw a number of sheer dresses and skirts make an appearance in the first row. Another notable trend and one to replicate at home was oversized denim dressed up with a nice top and fun bag.

TG Botanical's Garden Party

An enchanting way to showcase their new collection, Ukrainian brand TG Botanical held their runway exhibit in the beautiful gardens of the Design Museum.

Influenced by the patterns and colours found in nature, the collection featured petal-like textures and references to flora.

The nod to the natural world didn't stop there. The designer Tetiana Chumak chose to use natural and non-toxic dying methods, yarns inoculated with fungus and cabbage juice infusions to create this collection of playful dresses, cropped tops and pretty dresses.

There were large banquet tables laden with sugar snap peas, big heads of broccoli and glossy olives as if paying homage to nature's plenty.

Commuting Between Shows Via Bike

When in Europe we’ll always take the opportunity to jump on a scooter or a bike. It’s a great way to see the city, and not to mention much more sustainable than taking a car. Copenhagen Fashion Week was no exception – and we weren’t the only ones. After each show we’d see influencers hitching up their hemlines to jump on a bike and cycle off to the next destination.

Stine Goya Studio Visit

Known for its love of prints and proportions, Stine Goya is a Copenhagen-based brand that creates an enchanted world we very much want to live in.

We visited their studio showing during Copenhagen Fashion Week which was decorated with an adorable table setting featuring a hand-painted table cloth and colourful ribbon-adorned candles.

We loved seeing the clothes up close: painterly floral prints, pink plisse dresses, puff sleeves and embellished bags and shoes.

Exploring The City

Exploring The City

In-between shows and meetings, we loved exploring the city. The 17th century Nyhavn district is dotted with cheerfully coloured houses that line the canal. Known for its food along with its fashion, Copenhagen has so many cute cafes, natural wine bars and restaurants to try out.

Of course we had to visit Instagram-favourite Atelier September (would be rude not to) and order their cult-famous green omelette with spinach and herbs.

Another standout was Bobe, a cosy bistro with a warm atmosphere and menu comprised of thoughtfully minimal, seasonal dishes like zucchini and matcha salad, fried whole prawns and crispy crudites.

Styling RIISE In New Ways

Feeling inspired by all the fashion and creativity around us, it was so fun to style our RIISE wardrobes in new ways.

We layered colourful Silk Laundry slip dresses over trousers, and wore bright bandeaus with neutral skirts.

Brie Leon’s Everyday Mini Baguette Bag was the perfect size for toting daily essentials in-between shows (like phones and hotel keys) while still looking compact and chic.

We also accessorised with subtle jewellery accents, like Brie Leon’s Veeda Hoop Earrings and Agmes’ Baroque Bodmer Earrings.
