Made from recycled materials and featuring timeless silhouettes, the latest bag drop features fan favourites like the Everyday Croissant and Baguette styles, along with new additions from carry-all totes to vintage-inspired beaded micro bags.
“My goal has always been to create pieces that can be worn again and again in any number of combinations,” founder and creative director Janine Zafra tells RIISE. “I want to mine the feeling of finding a perfect wardrobe addition, where you foster a connection to that piece over the course of your lifetime.”
“It goes beyond a physical product for us. Opting for low-impact textiles is just the start, and we’re mindful of how one bag is the sum of so many sets of hands, minds and environmental factors. Creating responsibly makes for a more exciting design process. Instead of looking at the most convenient options and calling it a day, we get to innovate and explore new textiles and discover independent production studios,” she explains.
Local creatives and friends of RIISE including Hannah Juneva, Paloma Crawford, Amanda Chan and Eloise Jaksic visited the Paddington store by appointment to preview the new collection. Sydney-based floral artist Sophie Kaplan curated a beautiful floral installation for the window display, incorporating the existing sculptural pieces by Felix Grech.
