Driven by the need to be Marissa Cooper from The O.C., I spent many years layering shiny powder over my fake tan. The effect was not chic, and I won’t rest until all photographic evidence of me between the ages of 13 and 16 is removed from the internet.
But like every other noughties trend we lowkey regret, the bronzed look is back. Tan, healthy people are filling our feeds (thanks in no small part to TikTok’s latest beauty sensation Alix Earle), with experts predicting the bronzed glow will be one of 2023’s biggest beauty looks. This time around though, artificial orange shades have been replaced with a more subtle and glowy sun-kissed aesthetic.
